Card featured on Kristina Werner's YouTube Mail Call video

Hello crafty friends,

Just popping in to show a card that I mailed in January to Kristina Werner for her monthly mail call video.  I was very excited to see mine was one of the ones featured and had to share.  I will add a description of how I put it together below since I didn't do a step by step photo capture when I put this together.  I've been watching her channel for over 2 years and have gotten lots of inspiration from her creations and learned many techniques along the way.

I thought it would be fun to make an easel card with a "twist".  The flowers glued onto the inside of the card act as the stopper so the card will stand up.

Below is the video that this card was in (it's at the 5:38 mark)

How to instructions:

  • Cut a 6" x 6" Square card base from white cardstock
  • Scored the inside front panel from corner to corner so it would bend when opened
  • Created a top layer consisting of a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" white base card to glue onto the base that was layered with a pretty floral pattern paper.
  • On top of the floral paper, added a 4" square of white large polka dotted cardstock to show through the window.
  • Die cut a pink cardstock frame from Bazzill cardstock
  • Created the sentiment on my computer, printed out on heat resistant acetate to a laser printer, then foiled with Minc machine.  I downloaded the fonts from Dafont.com (Tootsie Wootsie and Pacifico fonts used on this project)
  • Adhered on the acetate and pink frame to front panel with double-sided tape
  • Adhered front panel to card base
  • Adhered flower die cuts to top corner of front panel as well as on the inside of the card
