Hello crafty friends,
One of the fun things about Christmas cards is they don't have to be traditional colors (red & green) to be beautiful. I love that Poinsettias come in a few different colors so I decided to go with pink on my card.
One of the things I really like in general about So Suzy Stamps is that the stamps are sized so that they can be used on a variety of card sizes. This stamp is large enough that it can be a great focal point or stamped multiple times to cover a larger area. The size I used today is an A2 sized card and 3 of the same stamp filled up one side.
I created a mask of the poinsettia stamp onto masking paper so I could stamp them to overlap each other along the right hand side. I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder before coloring the flowers with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers in various shades of light pink. In this post, I cover masking in more detail.
I added gold Nuvo drops on the centers of each flower and set aside to dry.
I added a neutral patterned paper panel on the left hand side and used an edge die to create a decorative border, placing so it slightly overlaps the flowers.
The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock (die cut with a stitched die) with Versamark, then heat embossed with green embossing powder. This is one of my favorites because it has a gold-green sheen to it. I popped up the sentiment on foam tape.
This completes my project - hope that it inspires you to give masking or pink colored poinsettias a try!
Hugs,
