First Tic Tac Toe Challenge of 2018

Hello crafty friends,

It's my first card post of 2018 and excited about starting off the year with Team X of the Tic Tac Toe Challenge team for challenge #29.  While I am more than ready to move on from Christmas cards with all the cold weather I am still in the mood to make winter themed cards.

I had previously made the blue background from yupo paper using alcohol inks in three colors.  I used the standard Ranger ink tool with felt to drag across the paper to create s stripe effect in blue shades and silver.

To create the snowman cut out I used 3 different circle dies to make the shape, starting with the largest circle, then slightly overlapping the die over the previous cut and die cutting again, then a third time for the head of the snowman.

I then added a piece of clear acetate behind the blue background like is typically done to create a shaker window.

I added a layer of 3m foam tape behind the blue background to create a shaker space.  I then filled the space with faux snow so that the texture would show through the window but doesn't really move around if shaken.   I added felt pieces to form the eyes and nose and used a marker to add a mouth on top of the acetate.  Below is a close up of a portion of the "shaker" window.

The scarf is made from a piece of large red and white yarn.  The arms were hand cut out of brown cardstock.  I did not have a die so I just hand cut those to look like sticks.

The sentiment banner was die cut from red cardstock with an Avery Ellie die.  I used a Hero Arts sentiment to add "Happy New Year" first using Versamark then adding white embossing powder.  I then cut a tiny hole from each corner and added twine to suspend the banner as a sign between the two arms.

Thanks for stopping by today - hope that you will take the time to play along with the challenge and your take on the board elements!
