Candy corn card

Hello crafty friends,

I don't know about you but I'm ready for some cooler weather!  Of course in Texas, our Fall season is a fairly short blip on the calendar before we are full on into Winter.  So much for that ha ha - I'll move on to my card.  Many different ideas were on my mind for today's post and I ended up pulling out a previously completed background on an A2 card base.  When I first got my Prismacolor pencils one of the first things I tried was coloring candy corn onto kraft cardstock.  I didn't turn it into a completed project then but when this sentiment (50% off during September at Crackerbox & Suzy stamps) I thought about this card base and had that "aha" moment.

As a child I absolutely loved candy corn - now I find it much too sweet!  It was fun to create something that brought back that nostalgia.  I used a yellow, orange and white Prismacolor pencils to hand-draw and color these candies.  I may have to design a stamp now that I've seen how cute these look.

Since candy corn is such a basic shape I didn't stress much about the shape being perfect.  Have you ever experimented with adding your own touch to a card without a stamp?  It can be quite fun so I recommend trying it out for yourself with something simple like this.

The sentiment was stamped with Hero Arts Unicorn White ink onto the same kraft cardstock as the background, then I used a die to cut it out.  I added some sequins to opposite corners, then popped it up with foam tape onto the card base.

If you are still with me I appreciate you reading this and if you have some thoughts about this project I'd love to hear them.

Have a lovely weekend!

Teresa
