Elegant stenciling - Collaboration with Imagine Crafts

Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to  day 2 of the blog hop from the teams of Crackerbox & Suzy and Imagine Crafts.  You should have arrived here from Kyriakos Pachadiroglov's blog.  I have two very colorful cards to share featuring stamps from C&S and several Imagine Crafts products.  Both Crackerbox & Suzy and Imagine are offering a $25 Gift Certificate each for ONE lucky winner.  To be entered you need to leave a comment on each blog (including the corporate blogs for Imagine and Crackerbox & Suzy on either the 18 or 19th.   Double your chances of winning by visiting and commenting all the stops on both days.  If you'd like to see day one of the hop please click here.

Using some stencils and white creative medium (by Imagine) along with the vibrant Fireworks spray colors I created some dimensional and glossy looking backgrounds.  I taped down the stencils onto mixed media cardstock, spread on some creative medium over the stencil using Imagine Crafts 3 sided squeegee to get an even coat and removed excess product.  This is my first time using these sprays and I really love how they look and what a bonus that they match the Memento inks I already own.

Leaving the stencil in place, next I sprayed two colors of Fireworks spray over top of the medium while wet (The orange toned card with Tangelo and Dandelion - the green card with Pear Tart and Dandelion) After waiting about 15 seconds I carefully removed the stencil, which left behind the beautiful stencil patterns and the color stayed put.  If you are concerned about the panel warping you could tape it down to a board while it dries.  Mine warped very little in the drying process I think because of using heavyweight mixed media cardstock.

I allowed to dry overnight and even when dry there was a gorgeous sheen left from the Fireworks sprays and I showed some angled photos below so you can see for yourself.

Links to the products are at the end of this post.

For the sentiment I used a direct to paper method with the matching Memento dye inks - Tangelo for the orange card and Dandelion for the other over a piece of cardstock until the paper was saturated.  I die cut the cardstock with a stitched rectangle die.  Once the ink was dry I used Versamark ink and white embossing powder to stamp the sentiment using two Crackerbox & Suzy stamps.

I layered my sentiment die cut over top of a slightly larger piece of metallic gold cardstock and popped up using foam adhesive tape to separate from the background.
