Christmas cards - torn paper backgrounds

Hello crafty friends,

I'm sharing these cards over on the Rinea blog today complete with the directions to create backgrounds just like the ones I did for all three of these cards.  I have also listed the instructions right here on my blog too.

Fall Leaf Centerpiece - perfect for Thanksgiving

Hello crafty friends,

This month it seems I'm combining my love of papercrafting with home decor.  It must be all the lovely fall leaf colors driving my projects these days.  I wanted to create something to put on my Thanksgiving table and once I had the image in mind it was not difficult to carry it out.  I have written step by step directions (with pictures) on the Rinea blog.  If you have the time I sure hope you will check it out.

Layered stamping with non-layering stamps - Teacher Appreciation cards

Hello crafty friends,

Teachers are so important - and not JUST because my own sister and brother-in-law are teachers. :)
It takes a lot of patience to do this work and I bet you are likely to know a teacher that deserves some special recognition.  I created these four cards with the newest Dare 2B Artzzy stamp set called Best Teacher and the coordinating dies.

Make your own Halloween Decor

Hello crafty friends,
If you love Halloween decor, I've got just the project for you. I've created a video for you so you can see how easy this really is.  With some die cut ghosts, Rinea foiled paper, a vase or small pot and tulle is all there is to this.  I'm sharing this project on the Rinea blog as well as YouTube channel.
Here are a few close-up shots of the ghosts on their stalks.
The ghosts were die cut using images from Cricut Design Space and Cricut Explore machine out of white cardstock.  If you have dies for ghosts or other Halloween type shapes, you can certainly substitute those.
The rest of the project (except for the vase and tulle) is all Rinea foiled paper.  I used the 3D Hyacinth Die set to create the stalks (not sure what else to call them) that the ghosts are attached to.
Using a vase I had laying around the house - I wrapped Ebony/Gold glossy foiled paper (6" x 12") and taped it to the vase.  You could use any similar container you have.  I put some black tulle in the vase to help position the stalks like a floral arrangement.  the spiders are some extra props I used for the photo and not truly a part of the project.

The most adorable reindeer card

Hey crafty friends,

I strive to give unbiased opinions about the products I use in cardmaking.  I have to say that I am rather biased about this reindeer image.  I think it is the most adorable reindeer stamp I've ever seen.  I love the size of it because it can stand alone as the focal point.  I decided to give this image some extra special attention.  The video is the best way to take in all the details I put into this.

It's time for some Autumn cards

Hello crafty friends,

I know it's been a while since I last posted.  I thought it was a great time to share some cards for the cooler season to come.  I say "to come" because it sure hasn't in Texas.  I pulled out my alcohol inks and made one large background before cutting it up to create these bright earthy colored cards.  I am sharing the process of creating an alcohol ink background on a larger sheet of Yupo and ways to enhance the backgrounds after the inks are dry.

Make a custom sash with Rinea foiled paper

Hello crafty friends,

A custom made sash is a great way to celebrate so many kinds of occasions - from birthdays, weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and so much more.  Rinea foiled paper is perfect for lettering a custom sash.  I created two very different samples - one for someone who's "over the hill" and another for a child.  I"m happy to share these with you here as well as on the Rinea blog.

Truck scene Father's day card

Hello crafty friends,

Father's Day will be here before you know it  - this could also be used as a birthday card since it doesn't specifically say Father's Day on the sentiment.

full disclosure:  I am part of the design team so I receive stamps in order to share them in my posts.  I only use products I like and would personally use.  There is a list of products used at the end of this post, so if there is something you are interested in looking at I appreciate if if you shop through my links.  In some, but not all cases I may earn a small commission if you do so.

Interactive swinging fairy card

Hello crafty friends,

Anyone who has been following me for awhile knows how much I love interactive cards.  I have seen lots of cute cards lately with a swinging element and I thought how perfect that would be with this swinging fairy stamp from Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps.

Lotus blooming with reverse Copic coloring

Hello crafty friends,

I am up on the Dare 2B Artzy blog today with this floral card.  I do like to color but sometimes I want to get a card done quickly without having to do a lot of thinking about color combos to use.  This is just the technique to use on a detailed flower image like this lovely Lotus stamp from Dare 2B Artzy.  Instead of coloring the flowers, color the background.  I did not use masking to make the process as simple as possible.

Elegant Mother's Day card with Crackerbox & Suzy stamps

Hello crafty friends,

If you are looking for a simple idea for a Mother's Day card, but easily adapted to many occasions by choice of sentiment, I have just the thing for you.  The beautiful and very detailed floral stamp makes it just about foolproof to quickly make an elegant card (especially if you have no time or inclination to do coloring)

Dare 2B Artzy floral challenge card

Hello crafty friends,

It's time for another challenge at the Dare 2B Artzy blog.  Floral cards are the theme and I used the beautiful Christmas Rose stamp to make this card.  This is versatile enough to get different looks depending on what colors you choose.  I have not used watercolors in awhile so I figured it was time I did that again.

You're My Anchor - special distress oxide background

Hello crafty friends,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and Easter!  The theme for today's card is definitely nautical and an idea for creating a masculine card.  Dare 2B Artzy's Anchors Away coordinating stamp and die set is what I used here.  I have a video tutorial also which will show how I did the background and the entire process for this card.
