Valentine's Day Card - Crackerbox & Suzy stamps

Hello crafty friends,

Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that creeps up on you really quickly!  I'm here to give you an idea on using a variety of small sentiment stamps to create a unique card for your special valentine!  Also there's a sale at Crackerbox & Suzy stamps in January for all Valentine's themed stamps - click here to check that out.

I used red and white striped paper as the background on a white A2 sized card base.

Starting with a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red mirror cardstock and the original size MISTI, I created rows with each of the 3 sentiment stamps, creating an alternate pattern.   First I made sure to liberally apply anti-static powder to the mirror cardstock to avoid embossing powder sticking where I didn't want it.

I stamped with Versamark ink, starting at the bottom center, then moved the cardstock over to one side, stamped the sentiment again and repeated the process on the opposite side until the row was filled.  This way I could leave the stamp in one position and just move the cardstock as needed.  I worked this way one row at a time.  You might find it quicker to stamp with a block, but since I'm not great at getting things in a straight line, the MISTI was a lifesaver to me.

After completing about half of the stamping, I stopped and added gold embossing powder and heat set it.  I then went back to stamping the remaining half.  Then I cut one big heart out of the finished piece and die cut 5 smaller hearts to decorate my card.

The cupid was stamped with Versamark onto gold mirror card, then I used a glittery red embossing powder on top.  Finally I cut out a heart shape around the cupid to layer on top of the large red heart.

Finally I die cut 3 hearts out of the same gold mirror card and arranged everything where I wanted before adding adhesive.

So that's it for today's card - keep scrolling down for links to all the products used.
