I'm back with an almost one layer card and although it might look complicated, it is actually pretty easy to make. I love the circus border stamp from Crackerbox & Suzy stamps and used it for my project today. For the fun of it I decided to pair it with a snarky sentiment. I thought it worked considering a fairground usually features lots of rides and you never know, accidents can happen. If this is not your type of thing, you could pair with another less snarky sentiment.

Starting with a 4" x 5.25" piece of white cardstock, I used post it tape to mask off the bottom 1 1/2" of the card in the landscape orientation. Then I created a sunset background blending from where the tape was up towards the top in the following 4 Distress Oxide colors:
bottom of sunset: Spiced Marmalade
next layer: Ripe Persimmon
next layer: Fired Brick
top: Seedless Preserves
After blending a new color, I made the look smoother by blending the previous ink color into the new one.
I left the masking tape in place, then stamped the circus border right above the section that was masked off, using the MISTI stamp positioning tool. I wanted a small black strip to separate the colored portion from the white space I left at the bottom and accomplished this by placing masking tape to expose a very narrow strip to ink blend Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I made sure to add plenty of ink so that the strip was very dark.
The sentiment was stamped in Onyx Versafine ink - again I used the MISTI to ensure perfect alignment. The mouse pad was removed while stamping to accommodate the rubber cling stamps.
With the card front completed, I matted in onto black cardstock, then adhered to a white A2 sized card-based in the landscape orientation.
