Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a leprechaun hat card

Hello crafty friends,
Since it feels a bit too early to focus on Easter cards, I thought it would be fun to create something fun for St. Patrick's Day.   Card making with SVG files is an easy way to create and I always aim to share easy card making ideas with you. While four-leaf clovers are often the theme used on this type of card I really wanted to find something a little different.  Etsy is a treasure trove for all sorts of SVG files and that's exactly where I found the hat to go on this card.
Here is my step by step picture tutorial showing how the SVG pieces fit together after cutting them out with my electronic die-cutting machine (Cricut Explore Air/Maker, Silhouette Cameo, or even a Brother Scan N Cut
.
These are the pieces after being die cut on my electronic die cutting machine before I glued them on the white card panel.  I cut the white card panel to 4" x 5.25" before gluing down on a black card base, sized 4.25" x 5.5".
The foiled papers I used include:
Main hat color:  Emerald/Gold glossy foiled paper
Buckle:  Gold/Gold glossy foiled paper
Band:  Ebony/Gold glossy foiled paper
Shamrock:  Emerald/Emerald Starstruck foiled paper
Above is where I glued the 3 Emerald/Gold glossy pieces
Then I added the shamrock and the first two pieces of the band
I finished it off by adding the gold buckle and the ebony piece in the center to complete the die-cut image.  I then stamped my sentiment at the bottom.
That's all there is to it.
Thanks so much for joining me today.  I hope that I have inspired you with this project and look forward to seeing your St. Patrick's day projects.

Coffee theme card + Rinea Ghost Ink 2.0 + Coupon code

Hello crafty friends,

I enjoy sharing handmade card making ideas that are easy to do.  If you are also a coffee lover, I think you will especially enjoy this easy greeting card.  It involves a little stamping, die-cutting and not much else.  The new Rinea Ghost Ink 2.0 is a new version that does a fabulous job of removing the color off the foiled papers.  For this project, I used Mocha/Gold Glossy foiled paper for the background.  Want 10% off your next Rinea order?  Here's a link to access the code or you can enter "TDEWITTPIE" at checkout at Rinea.  If you'd like to see a video showing the process, please scroll further.

Here's a close up look at the cute die-cut coffee charms I used from Karen Burniston.  The Rinea foiled papers used on the charms include Ruby/Gold Glossy, Emerald/Gold Glossy, Fuschia/Gold Glossy, and Sapphire/Gold Glossy along with White and Sand colored cardstock.  The background stamp I used is from Rubbernecker Stamps.  Isn't it fun?  I picked this up at a Scrapbook Expo last year and have used it on a few projects.

Note regarding affiliate links:  where possible I use links where I may earn a commission through your purchase using the links.  As a member of some design teams and affiliate programs, I am provided some products free to showcase them on my blog.  More details about the stores, teams, etc. are all on my disclosures page.

If you have just subscribed via MailChimp please leave me a comment below by no later than 2/15/20 and you will get a second entry once I confirm you are subscribed.  I now moderate all comments due to the amount of spam I started getting so if you don't see your comment immediately I will get to it as soon as possible.

One last thing for you to know about this new email service.  The quarterly winners will be notified on this blog.
