Rinea & Creative Embellishments collaboration clock project

Hello crafty friends,

Today's project is not my usual type, and I hope that you will enjoy seeing something a little different today.  This month the Rinea design team is in collaboration with Creative Embellishments, and the special clock "face" below is one of their products.

With just two of Rinea's foiled papers in this project, it shows how even a simple technique as embossing folders can create a highly varied background. The video shows how the chipboard panel was transformed to be a perfect foil for Rinea's foiled papers.

I appreciate you stopping by today to check out this project.  I have linked the products used below from Rinea and Creative Embellishments.

If you are still with me I'd like to share something with you.  I just launched a new quarterly giveaway program and the only thing you need to do is subscribe to my email list.  Once a quarter I will reward one lucky subscriber a mystery box full of crafty goodness worth an average of $50-75 retail.  It may or may not include new, unopened products along with gently used craft supplies, such as stamps, stencils, inks, foil, etc.  I wrote an entire post to announce it - if you missed it, you can find that here.

If you subscribed by email prior to Jan 24, 2020 you will want to get on the new list or else you will miss out on being in the drawing!

Screen printing for cards

Hello crafty friends,

Today I am excited to share some cards using a new to me technique - screen printing.  At Creativation 2020 I helped out in the Screen Sensations booth, demoing their screen printing kit.  I came back with several screens and paint to experiment with.  I have also made a video to share my tips from my experience using the kit.  My favorite one out of the six I made is this shaker card using metallic gold paint.

The screen printing process worked out very well on acetate as you can see.  Here's a very different card made with the same fairy pattern.  Also, it is easy to reverse the screen going the other direction (as long as the design doesn't include words).

note:  the kit, screens, and paint were provided to me by Harvest Direct with no obligation to use.  All opinions are my own and links to the products from them are not affiliate links.  Regardless of the way I acquire products I only use what I like and share my honest opinion.

Here's another example with the Sunflower screen.  I colored in just the flower with colored pencils and blended with gamsol, added a die-cut, matted onto a solid layer, then finally on coordinating patterned paper.

Next up are some cards where I used Rinea gold glossy foiled paper as the base with red paint. I fussy cut around three of the five different Sunburst patterns (as you will see on the screen itself in the photo).  I then cut two ovals in ruby glossy foiled paper and layered on top of a slightly larger gold glossy oval.  the background is a solid layer of the ruby with gold stripes added on top.

Last is an example of a Christmas card design in a tree shape.  I combined the blue and yellow paints from the primary colors set to make a deep green color to do the screen printing with.  Then I cut the print into a tree shape to mirror the design and used a blending brush to add a layer of lighter green ink over top.  Last, I layered the tree on patterned paper and on a kraft card base.

Here is the video showing the screen printing process.

Shaker Cards - Rinea & Creative Embellishments collaboration

Hello crafty friends,
I really, really love shaker cards and had a great time combining two fabulous shaker kits from Creative Embellishments with Rinea foiled papers.  The kits are chipboard pieces and although there are any number of mediums that could be used to add color, I chose to use embossing powders.  I created a video that's on the Rinea YouTube channel to show exactly how I made the shaker cards.
Here is a close up look at each of these cards:
The kits make it so much easier to construct a shaker card.  My video below will show you how I put these two together.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  If you have been inspired by these creations I hope you will leave me a comment.  Before you go, if you'd like to save 10% off at the Rinea store you can click on this link
