Peacock feathers are some of the most beautiful in my opinion. This stamp is one of those classics that I plan to use again and again in my card making. I decided to use it to create an elegant background that would also serve as the focal point for my card. I stamped the feather all over a piece of teal solid cardstock with embossing ink, added some gold embossing powder and heat set it.
I used the same embossing powder to create a frame for the teal panel. I stamped the embossing ink all around the edges on a separate cardstock layer then added the gold powder. This is a great way to get a perfectly matched base layer panel.
I used a strip of vellum as a "band"and added the same embossing ink as a stripe on the top and bottom of the vellum, adding the same gold embossing powder so it matches everything else. I stamped the sentiment in embossing ink and used a blue pearl embossing powder that was a pretty close match for the background color. (I tried it in both black and white, but the blue looked the best). Since I wrapped both the vellum and ribbon behind the panel, all the adhesive was on the back of the card front panel.
I added a gold satin ribbon as an additional touch (it came off of my Godiva chocolate box from Valentine's Day and just happened to match the gold perfectly - so this is motivation to always hang onto ribbon from packaging :) - the last thing I did was embellish with Nuvo drops in two different colors.
