Hope you are having a great week so far!
One technique used on this week's inspiration card for this week's challenge is new to me. I attended a Scrapbook Expo recently and learned about some techniques I had not tried before. I created my own glittery paper to do "almost" a die cut inlay for the tropical leaves (well more like palm branches but I thought they still would fit the theme of the challenge).
I chose the right row down for this card design: die cut - leaf/leaves - bold sentiment
The white panel in the center was just plain cardstock. I added a double sided adhesive that will hold glitter (examples are: Scor Tape and what I used from Elizabeth Craft Designs).
Before adding any glitter I first die cut the tropical leaves (3 dies) from a Spellbinders die set out of a previously made alcohol inked background with just green inks. I placed them on top of the white die cut panel on the dbl sided adhesive tape, then applied a fine white glitter on top. I tapped off the excess, then used a brush to remove any remaining loose glitter. I burnished in the glitter to make sure that it would stay put. If you are using a quality adhesive, the glitter will not come off. Not all tapes are capable of holding glitter.
The pink glitter strip and stars are from glitter paper I had in my stash. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark onto the same green & white striped pattern paper as the layer directly between the card base and white glittered layer. I sprinkled on embossing powder in a bright pink, blue and gold in various areas all at the same time, attempting to not overlap colors yet create a somewhat ombre effect.
To embellish I added a couple of brightly colored tropical drink stickers to finish it off.
I hope you will play along with us this week at the Tic Tac Toe Challengehttps://tictactoechallenge.com/tttc041-featured-designer-peggy-noe/ and thanks for stopping by!
