Happy new year and a little challenge to start off 2019

Hello crafty friends,

The Dare 2B Artzy team is starting the first challenge of 2019!  Our prompt is to create a card with our favorite season in mind.  My favorite season of the year is summer so I put together a quick and cute card with umbrellas on a sandy beach.

I kept this card really simple so that the umbrellas I fussy cut from the beautiful Funbrella patterned paper would be the focal point of the card.  With some solid blue paper as the sky and light kraft as the sand, all I needed to do was pop up the umbrellas with some pop dots.  The hello die cut shadow was die cut from the same kraft card stock, then I layered the hello word die in blue then offset the white die cut on top of that.

The clouds were hand cut from vellum.  I layered all of the above on an A2 card base and that completes this card.!

I hope you have enjoyed checking out all the other creations from the design team and invite you to play along with us over at the Dare 2B Artzy blog.

Until next time,

  1. I think your summery card is super cute :) What did you use to adhere the vellum clouds? I can't seem to find an adhesive that doesn't show up like crazy and ruin the design.

    1. Hi Amy,

Thanks for asking. On this card I used multi matte medium in as small amount as I could get away with. Sometimes I also use adhesive spray or a sticker maker to apply.
